Entertaiment:
Something that affords pleasure, diversion or amusement, such as a performance or game. It can also be an agreeable occupation for the mind, as in solving a crossword puzzle or reading a novel. Entertainment is often abbreviated to entmt on fliers, in industry news publications and when short hand note taking takes priority over clarity. Often, one form of entertainment will inspire a retelling in another media: for example, the story of Scheherazade has been told as an opera, a film and an innovative video game.
What is considered entertainment has evolved – once acceptable activities like hunting or war have become spectator sports; and cooking has gone from being an art to being broadcast for entertainment.
